Gogosha Optique
Gogosha Optique is a concept eyewear boutique in an adaptive reuse building in Echo Park, featuring a 915 sq. ft. storefront opening onto a communal porch on Sunset Boulevard. Inside, functional art-inspired sculptures and minimalist displays organize the eyewear program, with sunglasses set among a backlit lattice of wooden planks reminiscent of Sol LeWitt’s work. The showroom includes stepped storage units that double as seating, making fittings interactive and social. Narrow fitting stations along interior windows offer personalized service, using wood elements inspired by Gerrit Rietveld’s furniture experiments. A raked, perforated acoustical soffit overhead filters sound and light, giving the space a unique retail experience. Nefer Fernandez, as a designer, was part of the Formation Association team that executed the Tenant Improvement while designing and leading the adaptive reuse of the larger complex.
